So, I never write in here as I am ~old school and still use my Xanga, but I thought I'd take my year end Xanga post and bring it on over here.

So before I look back on this year, here are some resolutions for the next:
1. Graduate
2. Do at least an hour of cardio a week (I know that doesn't sound like much, but it's a step up from my current nonexistent work out regimine.)
3. Meet and get a picture taken standing between TJ Oshie and Patrik Berglund.
4. Go back to England
5. Go to Paris

So without further ado, in random order, here are my..

Happy New Year!

Oh hai. It's the first day of Christmas break and I can't sleep past 10am, I woke up with a sinus headache, stuffed up nose, and sore throat. That sounds about right. I love life. But at least GG Noms were announced this morning, so here goes.

THE 65TH ANNUAL GOLDEN GLOBE NOMINATIONS

MOTION PICTURE CATEGORIES

DRAMATIC PICTURE
"American Gangster"
"Atonement"
"Eastern Promises"
"The Great Debaters"
"Michael Clayton"
"No Country For Old Men"
"There Will Be Blood"
(Okay, WTF at SEVEN nominees. Let's be honest, I've never even heard of "The Great Debaters", so fuck that movie. I feel bad that "Into the Wild" got snubbed. I have yet to see any of these movies, but I reeeeeeally want "Atonement" or "There Will Be Blood" to win. I think it'll be between "Atonement" & "No Country For Old Men".)

MUSICAL OR COMEDY PICTURE
"Across the Universe"
"Charlie Wilson's War"
"Hairspray"
"Juno"
"Sweeney Todd"
(Okay, I did NOT know that "Charlie Wilson's War" is comedy. IMDb lists it as a DRAMA, and everyone know IMDb is all-knowing. So fuck "CWW". I'm really, really torn here. While I loved "Across the Universe" & "Hairspray", I'm not sure it's "Best" material..so I'll have to go with "Sweeney Todd" or "Juno" even though I have yet to see them. I think those are also the two it's going to come down between.)

FOREIGN LANGUAGE PICTURE
"4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days (Romania)
"The Diving Bell & the Butterfly" (France/USA)
"The Kite Runner" (USA)
"Lust, "Caution" (Taiwan)
"Persepolis" (France)
(K, obviously seen none of these. I've heard "4 Months.." is really good. But I'm rooting for my man Ang Lee's "Lust, Caution" or "Persepolis" because it looks badass.)

BEST DIRECTOR
Tim Burton, "Sweeney Todd"
Joel Coen & Ethan Coen, "No Country for Old Men"
Julian Schnabel, "Diving Bell & the Butterfly"
Ridley Scott, "American Gangster"
Joe Wright, "Atonement"
(I WANT TIM TO WIN. But I think the f'ing Coen bros might get it...ugh..co-directing irks me. Do they still only get ONE GG if they win? Because that sucks for them.)

BEST DRAMATIC ACTOR
George Clooney, "Michael Clayton"
Daniel Day-Lewis, "There Will Be Blood"
James McAvoy, "Atonement"
Viggo Mortensen, "Eastern Promises"
Denzel Washington, "The Great Debaters"
(Wait, what? Denzel is nominated for "TGD" instead of "American Gangster?" Obviously I need to IMDb "TGD" since I still don't know what it is. Viggo Mortensen, you are pretty and are a badass, but I strongly dislike David Cronenberg who directed your damn movie, so I cannot root for you. George Clooney, I'm over you and your smugness. The ultimate show down..JAMES VS DDL. My heart cannot take it. Okay, everyone knows that DDL does no wrong. He does a movie like once every 4 years and gets nominated for it no matter what because he is amazing. But...why not give it to someone who hasn't won yet and who has been doing solid work under the radar the past couple years? JAMES MCAVOY FOR THE WIN.)

BEST DRAMATIC ACTRESS
Cate Blanchett, "Elizabeth: The Golden Age"
Julie Christie, "Away From Her"
Jodie Foster, "The Brave One"
Angelina Jolie, "A Mighty Heart"
Keira Knightley, "Atonement"
(Cate, I love you. But I heard that movie was crap. Angelina, I love you, too..but..that performance was way too Oscar bait-y. Keria, I don't love you. Jodie Foster, I'm tired of your feminist-y movies. Julie Christie, I don't really know you. So. I don't really care who wins this one..maybe I choose Cate even though she won't win.)

BEST ACTOR, COMEDY OR MUSICAL
Johnny Depp, "Sweeney Todd"
Tom Hanks, "Charlie Wilson's War"
Ryan Gosling, "Lars and the Real Girl"
Philip Seymour Hoffman, "Savages"
John C. Reilly, "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story"
(Tom Hanks, your movie is a Drama, so you fail. PSH, fuck off, you won everything 2 years ago and screwed Heath Ledger & Brokeback Mountain over so I will never forgive you. John C freakin Reilly, I LOVE YOU, but no. Then..oh, Golden Globes, you cut me deep. Johnny vs Ryan?! They've both deserved to win the GG in the past, but haven't. These are both kind of ballsy performances for them. Johnny's is maybe a little less ballsy since him & Tim have worked together a trillion times, but come on..he sings. Dammit, don't make me choose. I will be happy to see either of them win.)

BEST ACTRESS, COMEDY OR MUSICAL
Amy Adams, "Enchanted"
Nikki Blonsky, "Hairspray"
Helena Bonham Carter, "Sweeney Todd"
Marion Cotillard, "La Vie en Rose"
Ellen Page, "Juno"
(Ugh, I hope Marion Cotillard doesn't win. I heard she's amazing, but I don't know her and that bugs me. Amy Adams, you are really adorable, but no. For me it comes down between HBC, Ellen Page, & Nikki Blonsky. For some reason I realllllllly think I'm going to adore Juno, so I think I'm rooting for Ellen Page. But I'd be happy to see either of the other 2 ladies win as well.)

SUPPORTING ACTOR
Casey Affleck, "Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford"
Javier Bardem, "No Country for Old Men"
Philip Seymour Hoffman, "Charlie Wilson's War"
John Travolta, "Hairspray"
Tom Wilkinson, "Michael Clayton"
(Once again, fuck off PSH. Tom Wilkinson, I think you are awesome, but I'm so anti-anything-George-Clooney-does right now. John Travolta..fat suit does not equal award..so no thanks. It's between Javier Bardem & Casey Affleck for me..and I think Casey is more likeable, so I choose him.)

SUPPORTING ACTRESS
Cate Blanchett, "I'm Not There"
Saoirse Ronan, "Atonement"
Julia Roberts, "Charlie Wilson's War"
Amy Ryan, "Gone Baby Gone"
Tilda Swinton, "Michael Clayton"
(Again, fuck off Julia & Tilda..CWW & MC suck. I don't know you, Amy. And while I don't know Saoirse either, James McAvoy thinks she's amazing and I trust is James McAvoy..plus she has an awesome Irish name. Cate I love you and I'm so ashamed I have not seen "I'm Not There" yet. It's between Saoirse & Cate for me.)

ANIMATED FILM
"Bee Movie"
"Ratatouille"
"The Simpsons Movie"
("Ratatouille", please. The marketing for "Bee Movie" & "The Simspons Movie" drove me insane..plus they both have the word MOVIE in their title..which is totally lame.)

SCREENPLAY
Diablo Cody, "Juno"
Joel Coen & Ethan Coen, "No Country for Old Men"
Christopher Hampton, "Atonement"
Ronald Harwood, "The Diving Bell & the Butterfly"
Aaron Sorkin, "Charlie Wilson's War"
(Diablo Cody for the win. Former stripper turned screenwriter? Good story.)

ORIGINAL SCORE
Dario Marianelli, "Atonement"
Howard Shore, "Eastern Promises"
Clint Eastwood, "Grace is Gone"
Michael Brook, "Into the Wild"
Alberto Iglesias, "The Kite Runner"
(Clint Eastwood scores movies now? What the fuck. Okay. You can win, Clint.)

SONG
"Despedida" from "Love in the Time of Cholera"
"Grace Is Gone" from "Grace Is Gone"
"Guaranteed" from "Into the Wild"
"That's How You Know" from "Enchanted"
"Walk Hard" from "Walk Hard"
("Walk Hard" is going to own me. And I adore John C. Reilly. So I choose that.)

TELEVISION CATEGORIES

DRAMATIC TV SERIES
"Big Love"
"Damages"
"Grey's Anatomy"
"House"
"Mad Men"
"The Tudors"
(Where is HEROES...ugh. I pick "The Tudors" cuz it's the only one I've ever watched. Oh, and I just realized "THE SOPRANOS" isn't on there! SNUB!!!!!)

BEST ACTOR, TV DRAMA
Michael C. Hall, "Dexter"
John Hamm, "Mad Men"
Hugh Laurie, "House"
Jonathan Rhys Meyers, "The Tudors"
Bill Paxton, "Big Love"
(JRM, please.)

BEST ACTRESS, TV DRAMA

Glenn Close, "Damages"
Minnie Driver, "The Riches"
Edie Falco, "The Sopranos"
Sally Field, "Brothers & Sisters"
Holly Hunter, "Saving Grace"
Kyra Sedgwick, "The Closer"
(Okay, this category blows my mind. These women are all pretty amazing. Kyra & Glenn are my favorites..but I think Edie should get it since it was the last season of "The Sopranos". Anyone but Sally Field, please.)

TV SERIES, MUSICAL OR COMEDY
"Californication"
"Entourage"
"Extras"
"30 Rock"
"Pushing Daisies"
(This is me not caring. Where the fuck is "The Office".)

Steve Carell, "The Office"
David Duchovny, "Californication"
Ricky Gervais, "Extras"

BEST ACTRESS, TV MUSICAL OR COMEDY
Christina Applegate, "Samantha Who?"
America Ferrera, "Ugly Betty"
Tina Fey, "30 Rock"
Anna Friel, "Pushing Daisies"
Mary-Louise Parker, "Weeds"
(I like it when America wins, but she won everything last year. I'd like to see Tina Fey get it.)

"Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee"
"The Company"
"5 Days"

These are my first icons ever, so prepare yourself for lameness, haha.  I don't have Photoshop, so these were all done on Paint.  Way to kick it old school, right?

Anyways, these are mostly textless because of Paint and all, so I don't mind if you'd like to use them as bases.
